Financial Technology and Customer Satisfaction: A Study of Selected Banks in Cross River State

Abstract

The study examined financial technology and customers’ satisfaction in selected banks in Calabar, Cross River State. Specifically, the study examined the effects of Automated teller machines, point- of-sale systems, mobile banking, and electronic banking on customer satisfaction. The population of the study was unknown, and the top-man rank was used to determine a sample size of 250. Purposive sampling was used in the study. Primary data sources were employed in the study. Multiple regression was used to assess the effects of the independent variables on the dependent variables. The study found that ATM, POS, mobile banking, and electronic banking had a positive and significant effect on customers’ satisfaction. The study recommended that banks should invest in simple, fast, and intuitive mobile apps. Also, customers should avoid fake bank apps and use only links from bank websites.
